Our Eco Commitment

At Walter Geering, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment as a supplier to hotels, holiday parks, and the wider hospitality sector. We understand the urgent need to address the issue of plastic pollution, and we are committed to taking concrete steps towards reducing plastic waste throughout our operations.

One of our primary goals is to reduce plastic in our own brand packaging. We recognise that packaging plays a significant role in contributing to plastic waste, and we are actively working to minimise its environmental impact. By implementing innovative solutions and alternative materials, we aim to make our packaging more sustainable and eco-friendly.

However, our commitment doesn’t stop there. We understand that to achieve substantial change, collaboration is essential. Therefore, we are actively engaging with our third-party suppliers, manufacturers, and partners to collectively reduce plastic across our entire supply chain. By working together, we can drive meaningful change and create a more sustainable future for the hospitality industry.

The hospitality industry, by nature, has relied heavily on single-use plastic due to its convenience. As a supplier, we understand this challenge and are committed to finding sustainable alternatives that maintain convenience without compromising the environment. We believe it is possible to strike a balance between convenience and environmental responsibility, and we are actively seeking innovative solutions to achieve this.

To fulfil our commitment, we have incorporated various sustainable materials into our extensive range of toiletries and welcome packs. We utilise PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic, POP (Prevented Ocean Plastic), which helps reduce the demand for new plastic production and diverts plastic waste from landfills. Additionally, we embrace biodegradable plastics, wheat straw, plastic-free packaging, and materials such as recycled wood pulp and bamboo. These choices not only reduce our reliance on traditional plastics but also promote the use of renewable resources.

Furthermore, we have also explored the use of organic oil in our product formulations, prioritising sustainable and eco-friendly ingredients. This approach aligns with our commitment to sustainability and ensures that our products are as environmentally conscious as possible.

At Walter Geering, we understand that our actions have consequences, and we are dedicated to making responsible choices that benefit the planet. Through our commitment to reducing plastic waste, exploring sustainable materials, and fostering collaboration across the supply chain, we aim to lead by example and inspire positive change within the hospitality industry.

Together, we can create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future for all.

Eco Friendly Purchasing Guide

We have launched an innovative Eco-Friendly Purchasing Guide that aims to assist customers in making environmentally conscious choices. This guide utilises a range of intuitive icons that highlight the eco-credentials of their products, making it easier for our customers to understand and select items that align with their sustainability goals.

The icons featured in Walter Geerings’ Eco-Friendly Purchasing Guide encompass a wide range of eco-friendly attributes. For instance, the oxo-biodegradable icon signifies products that are designed to degrade and break down naturally over time, reducing their impact on the environment. The compostable icon denotes items that can be composted and returned to the soil as organic matter, promoting a circular economy.

Furthermore, the icons indicate the use of sustainable materials such as recycled wood pulp, bamboo, and wheat straw, emphasising the brand’s commitment to reducing reliance on virgin resources. The recyclable icon signifies products that can be easily recycled after use, diverting waste from landfills and conserving valuable resources.

In addition to material choices, the icons highlight ethical considerations such as vegan-friendly and not tested on animals, appealing to consumers who prioritise cruelty-free products. The guide also identifies products that are free from harmful additives such as parabens, while promoting those made with organic argan oil.

We hope this guide empowers you to make informed choices, fostering a greener and more sustainable future.
