Walter Geering introduces post-consumer recycled plastic to its collection of dispensers

In light of the focus to reduce plastic across the hospitality industry, Walter Geering is proud to introduce post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic to the composition of 300ml dispenser bottles.

What is PCR?

PCR is recycled plastic made from discarded items such as plastic milk and drinks bottles and is an environmentally sustainable solution for reusing single-use materials that would otherwise be disposed of in landfill sites.

Have you ever considered what happens to your recycled milk bottle tops or water bottles? The answer is post-consumer recycled plastic. The production of PCR is a process that begins with collecting discarded plastics from commercial and residendeial recycling programmes. Once collected, the items are ground, washed, dried and pelletised – and they are ready to be used agin in manufacturing.

Which collections are using PCR?

Dispensers from our Era and Signature collections are available now in bottles made with 10% PCR and the Ebony and Verdi Collection with follow on the next production, early next year.

Both or Era and Signature dispensers offer 300ml hand wash and hand lotions and are the perfect addition public bathrooms in hotels, restaurants, B&Bs, commercial offices, actually any bathroom! Deigned to fit our sleek stainless steel brackets and we also offer 5 litre drums for easy filling.

I know, what you are thinking… Why are we only using 10% PCR? Would you be surprised to hear that one of the most recycled items in the UK is the green top of a milk bottle? This means that the higher the percentage of PCR used in production, the greener the bottle!
